4000 Year Perpetual Calendar Information Site

This model has been superseded by the new calendarwheel. The new calendarwheel has the advantages of a one-step operation and display of all months at once with holidays. Please see the new calendarwheel at www.calendarwheel.com .

This model of perpetual calendar is surprisingly efficient.  Its features are as follows.

· shows the number of days in each month
· automatically recognizes all leap years
(and leap centuries)
· changes from one month to another in about 1 second
· changes from one year to the next in about 2 seconds
· shows the days of the week in conventional form
(with Sunday on the left and Saturday on the right)
· works for any date January 1, 1BC
(0AD) through December 31, 3999 (Old Style Calendar and New Style Calendar)
· costs only US$5
(includes assembly, instructions, and first-class/air-mail shipping to any country) (Cost is very roughly estimated and will likely be updated in the future.)

At right, you can see many views of the calendar as it appears when set for November of 2000.  In the five frames, you can see the date set in five steps
(2·0·0·0·NOV).

The primary shortcoming of this model is its construction.  It is made of stiff paper
(110 lb. (200 g/m²)).  Under regular use, it shows few signs of wear; it can be dropped and remain relatively undamaged.  However, under excessive weight (more than 6 pounds (3 kg)), it will likely be ruined.
